Jake DeVries is a partner in the firm’s Music and Entertainment Valuation Services Practice, where he leads the group’s music valuation practice. With over a decade of experience as an economist in the music industry, his expertise spans financial modeling, litigation economics, performance income forecasting, and the development of new licensing models.
Jake performs full-scale valuations of music publishing and recorded music assets for buyers, sellers, and lenders. In 2025 alone, he led over 566 music asset valuations totaling more than $12.9 billion. He works closely with major music funds, publishers, record companies, private equity firms, commercial lenders, business managers, law firms, estates, and creators.
Jake leads the group in its approach to complex valuations, including such items as futures, royalty rate changes, and joint ventures. He was instrumental in developing the group’s approach to conducting net asset valuations (NAVs) for the music funds operative in the music rights marketplace.
Previously, Jake was an economic analyst at Massarsky Consulting, which joined Citrin Cooperman in 2022.
