Cameron Smalls is a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley Tactical Value, where he oversees special situations investments globally and leads the fund’s $700 million joint venture with Kobalt Music Group. With 19 years of experience, including 14 years focused on media and entertainment, he has executed investments across a wide range of music industry sectors — from major labels and publishers to independent firms, service providers, and catalog platforms. Before his current role, Cameron was a Partner at Silver Rock Financial, a multi-billion-dollar credit-focused asset manager and the former investment office of the Milken Family. In 2020, he co-founded Amplified Music Rights (AMR), a leading platform for music catalog acquisition and management. Earlier in his career, Cameron helped found Morgan Stanley Private Credit and was previously part of the Leveraged Finance & Acquisition Finance Group at Morgan Stanley. Cameron earned his B.S. in Economics, magna cum laude, from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
