Sector Deep Dives at Amplify
CONTENT & DISTRIBUTION
Goldman Sachs’ 2025 Music in the Air report projects global music revenues growing from approximately $100B today to more than $200B by 2030, driven by continued expansion in recorded music, publishing, live entertainment, streaming adoption, emerging markets, and AI-enabled efficiencies. Amplify examines what this growth trajectory means for investors today — and how portfolios can be positioned to participate in the next phases of industry expansion.
STREAMING
While growth in the US market is moderating, music streaming continues to scale globally, with revenues projected to nearly double by 2030. Growth is fueled by paid subscription expansion in emerging markets, evolving audio formats including podcasts and AI-generated content, and stronger artist protections and IP guardrails. Sessions explore how these dynamics are reshaping value creation and competitive advantage across the streaming ecosystem.
IP VALUATION
As global capital continues to flow into music rights, the frameworks used to value these assets are rapidly evolving. What once appeared to be a straightforward yield play has grown more nuanced, shaped by shifting revenue mixes, macroeconomic pressures, and expanding interest in indie and genre-specific IP. This session examines how valuation perspectives have changed since the post-pandemic acquisition boom -- and how advisors and dealmakers are redefining price, structure, and expectations in today’s market.
AI MUSIC & TECHNOLOGY
AI is helping to redefine how music is created, discovered, monetized, and managed — encompassing areas such as production and personalization to rights administration and revenue tracking. While AI offers significant commercial opportunities, it also poses complex challenges concerning authorship, licensing, regulation, and equitable compensation. With the announcement of an increasing number of settlement deals between rights-holders and AI platforms, Amplify explores how music and technology executives and policymakers are navigating this evolving landscape and considers the implications for investors.
